Buying moving boxes? See what they really cost →

Skip the
cardboard.

Moving between apartments around Newport County? That's exactly what this is for. Rent sturdy crates — delivered before the old lease ends, packed at your own pace, picked up once you're in the new place. No taping, no store runs, no box bottoms giving out on the stairs. Most apartment moves land at $139–$169 for two weeks.

Studio to 5-bed. Delivered.
The three things everyone dreads

Moving stress, meet your fix.

Cardboard makes all three worse. Crates don't.

The clock

Dates slip. Crates keep up.

Lease ends Friday, keys come Saturday? Your two-week rental starts when you're ready, and you can extend by the week from $30 if the new place runs late.

The bill

Stop buying boxes you'll toss.

A studio's worth of cardboard can run about $310 before tape. A studio crate rental is $119 for two weeks, with delivery and pickup included.

The crash

Boxes fold. Crates hold.

Rigid, stackable crates with handles. They don't go soft or give out at the bottom halfway up the stairs.

Process

How it works

Three steps. No truck rental, no box-flattening on move-out day.

01

Book your package

Pick a size from studio to five-bedroom, choose your delivery and pickup dates.

02

We deliver, you pack

Clean, stackable crates show up at your door, ready to load at your own pace.

03

We pick up — done

Once you're unpacked, we swing by and grab everything. No trip to the recycling center.

Who it's for

Built for how people actually move here

Renters

Your lease ends Friday and the new place isn't ready until Saturday. Book crates around your actual dates, not a rental-truck reservation window, and skip the weekend of building boxes.

Navy & PCS families

Orders don't leave much planning time. We deliver before you land and pick up once you're settled.

RWU & Salve students

Move-in and move-out weekends, sorted. Crates delivered to your dorm or off-campus address before you arrive.

Downsizers & families helping a parent

Forty years in one house is a lot. Pack room by room at your own pace, and the crates will wait. We deliver, we pick up, and nobody lifts more than they should. Not sure how many you need? Text us your move date.

Renovating

Kitchen remodel or new floors coming? Pack the room into lidded crates, stack them in the garage, and keep the dust out until the contractor's done — delivered and collected at the same house. Crates for renovations →

The crate

Sized to your move

Sized by the home you're leaving — most apartment moves land on the 30 or 40 crate packages. Every package includes delivery and pickup, plus weeks three and four at 50% off the base rate. A studio's worth of cardboard boxes runs about $310 to buy outright — two weeks of crates costs less than a third of that, and they come back for pickup instead of going to the curb.

Customer reviews

Five stars, from our very first review.

Dianna rented 30 crates for her move in October 2026 — and left this on Google the day we picked them up.

“Want to take one of the many hassles out moving? This first time Aquidneck Crate customer will not move without renting crates again! Easy to reserve and great customer service. I’ll never go back to either buying tons of cardboard boxes or storing totes ‘just in case’ ever again.”

Who we are

Two locals who got tired of cardboard.

Aquidneck Crate Co. is Michael and Colin — neighbors, not a national franchise.

Moving around here shouldn’t mean hunting for boxes, taping them shut, and feeding flattened cardboard to an overflowing recycling cart for weeks. So we built what we wished we’d had: sturdy, reusable crates, dropped at your door and picked up when you’re done.

The idea came from a move of our own: a living room full of cardboard and the sense that there had to be a better way.

Local is the whole point. We both call this area home, and we want every move here to go a little smoother for our neighbors.
